Philip Henry Candiloro Jr., 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 2:05 p.m.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Phil’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Family Worship Center. The service will be officiated by Pastor Willis Martin, with interment to follow at Centuries Memorial Park.

Phil was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and a community he dearly loved.

He graduated from C. E. Byrd High School and began a career marked by hard work, dedication, and a genuine love for people. He was employed by Western Electric before becoming the owner and manager of Direct Mail Marketing alongside his wife, his sister-in-law, Martha Kahler, and his brother-in-law, Mark Kahler. As a salesman, he was well-loved by both his customers and colleagues, earning a reputation for his warm personality and friendly spirit.

Outside of work, he had a lifelong passion for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He and his wife shared countless adventures on the open road, creating cherished memories together with her happily riding behind him, holding him close. In later years, he also served as a greeter at Osborn Funeral Home, where his welcoming smile, kind heart, and compassionate presence brought comfort to countless families.

Philip lived with a heart wide open to the world. He loved life in all its beauty, and he loved people with a depth that could be felt in every word, every gesture, and every act of kindness. To know Phil was to know warmth, laughter, loyalty, and love. He had a way of making others feel welcome, understood, and important, as though each person who crossed his path mattered deeply-because to him, they did.

A devoted servant of God, Phil lived his faith not only through belief, but through love in action. He was generous without hesitation, thoughtful beyond measure, and always ready to help wherever there was a need. His empathy was a quiet gift; he could sense the weight others carried and would meet them with comfort, strength, and grace. In his presence, people found not only kindness, but a safe place to be themselves.

Phil was full of life-bright, caring, strong, and wonderfully funny. He told stories in a way that made people lean in, smile, remember, and laugh. His humor could lighten a heavy moment, and his caring heart could steady those who needed support. He was strong, yet gentle; joyful, yet deeply compassionate; open, loyal, and true. The love he gave was sincere, and the mark he left on others was lasting.

Phil’s life was a blessing, a beautiful reminder of what it means to live with faith, generosity, laughter, and love. Though his absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully describe, his spirit remains-in the stories he shared, the hands he helped, the hearts he lifted, and the love he poured so freely into this world. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Henry Candiloro, Sr and Edith Rose Mailhes Candiloro and his sister, Patricia.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Candiloro; his sons, Philip Henry Candiloro III and wife, Liz, and Robert Jay Candiloro and wife, Teresa; his grandchildren, Taelor Candiloro, Dakota Candiloro, Elena Candiloro, Wesley Candiloro, and Joseph Candiloro; his sister, Mary Alice Lauw; and his brother, Steve Candiloro.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Willis Martin and the Grace Family Worship Center family for their love, prayers, and faithful support during this difficult time.

SSGT. James Williamson and Jettie Anne welcomed their second daughter, Katara Renelle Williamson-Edwards, into the world on March 4, 1974, in England.

Katara accepted Christ at an early age in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth, Texas; Green Oaks High School in Shreveport, Louisiana; and graduated with honors from Bossier High School in Bossier, Louisiana, in 1992.

She attended Tennessee State University for one year before transferring to Grambling State University on a band scholarship. In 1995, she enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she served until 1998.

Katara loved computers and technology and enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends, as well as traveling. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, she was introduced to the team by her father. She will be remembered for her smile, laughter, love of music and dancing, and her free-spirited heart.

After being diagnosed with ALS in 2024, Katara fought with courage and grace. On July 11, 2026, she passed away at 8:30 a.m.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jettie Anne Williamson; a daughter, Ariana Michelle Williamson; and a brother-in-law, Jason Savannah.

She is survived by her six children: Leo Williamson, Cameron Williamson, Dartangen Williamson, James Williamson II, Alana Jackson, and Saquan Coley; two sisters, Tyesha Harris and Lakita Savannah, both of Shreveport, Louisiana; nephews Davion Hounchell, Carltrell Williamson, Niki Edwards, Ladarius Williamson, and Zachariah Williamson; nieces Jahzmine Williams and Sariah Edwards; one great-niece, Ka’Moni Edwards; her best friend, Elizabeth Thomas; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Shreveport Police made several arrests over the weekend involving domestic violence incidents.

On July 12 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Jermichael Roberson was arrested and charged with one count of simple battery of a dating partner and one count of interfering with emergency communication.

On July 10 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Jackie Clark was arrested and charged with battery of a dating partner with child endangerment and interfering with emergency communication.

Also on July 10, Jackson Clark was arrested on outstanding warrants for domestic abuse battery and interfering with emergency communication.

The Shreveport Police Department will continue to prioritize domestic violence calls, thoroughly investigate these incidents, and hold offenders accountable. Interfering with a victim’s ability to call for help will not be tolerated.

The Bossier City Police Department is recognizing three generations of the Sproles family for their service to the department and the City of Bossier.

Retired Assistant Chief Glen Sproles served the Bossier City Police Department for 33 years, building what the department described as a legacy of leadership, integrity, and commitment to the community.

His son, Lt. Scotty Sproles, has continued that legacy with nearly 24 years of service.

Officer Taylon Sproles now represents the third generation of the family to serve with the Bossier City Police Department.

According to the department, the Sproles family’s commitment to law enforcement has spanned more than half a century.

The department thanked the Sproles family for its dedication, sacrifice, and service to the City of Bossier and congratulated Lt. Scotty Sproles and Officer Taylon Sproles as they continue the family’s legacy of service.

Antoinette Marie Ferlito Leone passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. She will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering love, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joe and Rose Ferlito of Bossier City, Louisiana, and her brother, Nickey Ferlito of Cypress, Texas.

Antoinette is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny Leone Jr.; her loving sons, Johnny Leone III and Joey Leone and his wife, Jamie; her sister, Mary Vickie Cobbs and her husband, Raymond, of Greenville, Texas; her brother, Joseph Ferlito and his wife, Pat, of Bossier City, Louisiana; her sister, Rose Ann Cash and her husband, Benny, of Shreveport, Louisiana; and her sister-in-law, Joan Ferlito of Cypress, Texas.

She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Isabella Rose Leone, Jacob Endsley, and Samantha Sweet, who brought immense joy to her life. Antoinette was also deeply loved by her many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Antoinette’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Shirley Ann Chapman, 79, will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ringgold, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dan Gillman.

Shirley was born on November 16, 1946, to Louis Ogran and Margie Marie Williams in Magnolia, Arkansas, and passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Shirley graduated from Smackover High School in 1964 and later retired from Millennium Medical. She married Daniel E. Chapman on June 1, 1985, and together they built a life filled with love and shared adventures. Shirley loved to sew, crochet, and create beautiful crafts, and she learned to play the piano as a child, beginning her time playing in church at Snow Hill Baptist at the age of 12.

She thoroughly loved traveling with her husband, Dan, all over the country on bowling tournament trips, making memories everywhere they went. Above all, Shirley dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren, who brought her endless pride, joy, and purpose. She will be dearly missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, L.O. Sr. and Marie Williams; sister, Peggy Williams, and brother, L.O. Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 41 years, Daniel E. Chapman; son, Hank Ewing (Tammy) of St. Francisville, LA; daughter, Marie Johnson (Kenny) of Bossier City, LA; bonus-daughters, Ann Batson (Doug) of Bossier City, LA, Jennifer Yater (Jeff) of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Chapman of Holly Springs, MS; sister-in-law, Cookie Jorstad of Shreveport, LA, and Marilyn Boudreau of Grandbury, TX; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Honoring Shirley as pallbearers will be Benjamin Crawford, Jack Crawford, Doug Batson, Kenneth Mark Johnson, Kenneth David Johnson, and Hank Ewing.

The Shreveport Police Department’s state-leading DWI Unit had another busy weekend, making 18 arrests for impaired driving, including several repeat offenders.

Among those arrested were individuals accused of their second, third, fourth and even seventh DWI offenses.

Kevin Starks was arrested around 1:00 a.m. on July 13 for DWI third offense.

Antoiney Kennedy was arrested around 6:30 a.m. on July 12 for DWI first offense after allegedly driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Brayden Rusk was arrested around 6:00 a.m. on July 12 for DWI first offense following a traffic stop for failing to signal.

Jakyra Rye was arrested on July 12 for DWI first offense following a traffic stop for improper lane usage.

Jacorey Harris was arrested around 2:20 a.m. on July 12 for DWI seventh offense, resisting an officer with force or violence, and battery on a police officer.

Lindsay Landry was arrested shortly before 1:00 a.m. on July 12 for DWI first offense after being stopped for driving without lights and improper lane usage.

Jamarcus Moss was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on July 12 for DWI fourth offense.

Kamari Clay was arrested shortly after midnight on July 12 for DWI first offense and reckless operation of a vehicle.

Rhonda Coleman was arrested around 6:15 a.m. on July 11 for DWI first offense following a traffic stop for a defective headlight.

Shaquille Johnson was arrested around 5:40 a.m. on July 11 for DWI first offense after being stopped for driving without lights.

Cody Bandy was arrested around 3:00 a.m. on July 11 for DWI first offense following a traffic stop for speeding.

Latravis Harris was arrested around 2:55 a.m. on July 11 for DWI first offense following a traffic stop for improper lane usage.

Caden was arrested around 11:35 p.m. on July 10 for DWI second offense following a traffic stop involving an unregistered vehicle.

Shaleriyah Moton was arrested around 6:12 a.m. on July 10 for DWI first offense after allegedly running a red light.

Thomas Hudson was arrested around 3:00 a.m. on July 10 for DWI second offense following a traffic stop.

Charles Mays was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on July 10 for DWI first offense after being stopped for misuse of a license plate and an altered tag. Officers also discovered that Mays had several outstanding warrants.

Tagaris Washington was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on July 10 for DWI third offense following a traffic stop.

Latasha Davis was arrested around 9:45 p.m. on July 9 for DWI second offense.

These arrests should serve as another warning: Shreveport Police officers are actively looking for impaired drivers. Several of these suspects had already been arrested for DWI before, yet allegedly chose to make the same dangerous decision again.

Elm Grove Middle School teacher Micah Stewart has received a $10,000 grant from the Amazon Northwest Louisiana Community Fund.

According to Bossier Schools, Stewart plans to use the funding to implement the Louisiana Robotics Challenge Program at Elm Grove Middle School and other schools across northwest Louisiana.

The district said the program will provide students with opportunities to explore computer science, engineering and robotics.

While incoming students registered for classes and met with advisors during Freshman Connection, their families spent the day learning how to support them through the transition to college.

Parent Connection, held alongside Freshman Connection, gives parents and family members an overview of the academic, financial and student support resources available at Northwestern State University before the fall semester begins. The one-day program allows families to meet university staff, faculty and current students while asking questions about topics ranging from financial aid to campus housing.

The program is designed to complement student orientation by helping families understand what resources are available throughout their students’ first year and what to expect before move-in and the start of classes.

Jessica Phillips of Bossier City attended the July 9 Parent Connection session while her student participated in Freshman Connection.

“I came in blind and had tons of questions. I was worried I had messed things up or hadn’t turned everything in that I was supposed to, but within minutes of getting here, all of my questions had been answered. Everybody has been very helpful,” Phillips said.

Phillips said her family chose NSU after visiting campus because her daughter immediately felt welcomed.

“When we visited campus, everyone was so accepting, kind and wonderful. She felt very comfortable, right at home and excited to come back as a student,” Phillips said.

Throughout the day, parents toured campus locations their students are likely to visit, learned about financial aid and scholarship resources, explored campus services during Coffee Break and Browse and heard from upperclassmen about topics including time management, budgeting, social life and adjusting to college.

Erica Morgan of Coushatta also attended Parent Connection while her student completed Freshman Connection.

Morgan, an NSU alumna whose son also graduated from the university, said her family’s positive experiences at NSU played a role in her student’s decision to attend the university.

“I’m familiar with how things work and I had a great experience. He had a great experience here, so it was an easy decision,” Morgan said.

Parent Connection concluded July 9 alongside Freshman Connection, which welcomed more than 1,000 incoming students during orientation sessions held throughout the summer in Natchitoches, Shreveport, Cenla and Leesville/Fort Polk.

Doris Nell Graves, 85, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully July 9th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, strength, and cherished memories. 

Doris was known as a feisty woman with a stubborn spirit and a heart full of love for her family. She lived life on her own terms, never afraid to speak her mind, and her resilience, determination, and unwavering devotion to those she loved made her truly unforgettable. Her family will remember her for her strength, her sense of humor, and the lasting impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. 

She is survived by her children, Robert Adams III, Melonie A. Seager and her husband, Will Seager and Lesley Rinaudo and her husband, Chris Rinaudo. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Karen Brownell and her husband, Chris Brownell, Stephanie, Roberts and her husband, JD Roberts, Christopher Truelove and his wife, Erika, Shelby Truelove, Honey Truelove, Amanda Day, Alyssa Rinaudo and Chloe Rinaudo. Doris was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy. 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Reece Barkley and Opal Bison Barkley, and her siblings, James Barkley, Gordon Barkley, Janice Preston, and Vivian Tracy. 

Though she will be deeply missed, Doris’s love, strength, and legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Funeral or memorial service information will be announced by the family.

Funeral services for Nancy Jane (Nana) Compton (Whiteman), 82, of Bossier City, LA, will be held Friday July 17th 2026 at Heritage Missionary Baptist Church, 5580 Barksdale Blvd, Bossier City, LA. The viewing period is at 1:00 PM with funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be held in Broken Arrow, OK at Floral Haven Cemetery at a later scheduled time. Nancy died after a short illness on July 11, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Born on Sept. 15, 1943, to the late Loren and Georgia Moore, Nancy married the late Bob Compton on July 29, 1960. They had two daughters, Cheryl Ann “Sherri” and Carla Kay.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy joined her brother, Larry M. Moore and beloved grandson Bobby Wayne Nation in heaven.

Nancy relocated from Kansas and made her home in Tulsa Oklahoma. She enjoyed time with her granddaughter Melissa (Missy) Steele until she moved to Louisiana in 2004, where she then spent time with her grandsons, Michael (Mikey Doodle) Wayne Nation and the late Bobby Wayne Nation which passed away in 2015.

An important part of the South Bossier community, neighbors depended on Nancy to keep watch over the neighborhood. She was a member of Heritage Missionary Baptist Church and was grateful for the many friends there, as well as the prayers they sent up for her and her family during the difficult times. She was especially devoted to Brother Cole Melton.

In addition to Sherri, Carla and Michael Nation, Nancy is survived by Sherri’s husband, Joe Clark, Carla’s husband, Meritt Nation, granddaughter, Melissa Steele, and four great grandchildren, Jax, Jake, Paityn and Austin Steele.

The family and Nancy would like to thank Dr. Scott McRight, Jackie Jansen NP and Kristen Vincent RN, all the nurses who cared for Nancy at WK Pierremont, Bossier EMS, Willis Knighton 8th Floor ISH, Bristol Hospice with an extra special thank you to Jane and Shelby Sears.

A Bossier City man accused of raping a woman in her home in June 2020 was convicted Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Caddo District Court.

Cortez Lane, 45, was found guilty of second-degree rape after an hour’s deliberation by the eight-woman, four-man jury in District Judge Ramona Emanuel’s court. The trial began July 6, 2026.

Through the course of the trial, the jury learned that on the date of the attack, while visiting the victim, Lane undressed and forced himself onto her within minutes of being in her home. Twice the size of the woman, he held her wrist and proceeded to rape her. The victim testified, as did a Shreveport patrol officer and a police detective.  

When Lane returns to Judge Emanuel’s court August 11, 2026, for sentencing, he faces imposition of a prison term of at least five years up to 40 years at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

Lane was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Senae D. Hall and Fernando Grider Jr. He was defended by Royal Alexander and Dave Knadler.

The case was docket No. 403664.

• Shreveport Fire for earning first place at the 2026 Louisiana National Registered Emergency Medical Technician Simulations War Competition.
• The students and coordinators of the Southern University at Shreveport Dual Enrollment Program for their dedication to academic excellence and commitment to building a bright future.
• Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana for celebrating 100 years of changing lives, strengthening the community and creating opportunities through the power of work.

Kay Lorraine Alexander Brown peacefully entered her heavenly home on July 8, 2026.

She was born on August 22, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to William E. Alexander, Jr. and Joyce Lorraine Petersen Alexander. A proud 1966 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School, she also attended Louisiana Tech University. Kay retired as a commercial property manager and, throughout her career, served in a variety of roles in real estate, oil and gas, and office management.

Her faith was the guiding force of her life. In her earlier years, she faithfully served her churches as a Sunday School teacher, choir director, and youth group leader, lovingly referring to those young people as “her kids” for many years afterward. She was always willing to step forward and serve wherever she was needed. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith during nine years of living with an LVAD were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Kay loved to travel and was especially fond of the beach or camping anywhere near the water. She and her beloved husband of 36 years, Lt. Tom Brown, shared countless adventures together, seeking out lighthouses, waterfalls, great food, and beautiful sunsets while making treasured memories along the way. She also embraced Tom’s passion for classic cars and drag racing, and through their years with Beat The Heat, Inc., they formed many lasting friendships.

She loved music, photography, curating antique booths, spending time with family and friends, and attending the many activities and events in which her children and grandchildren participated. She especially cherished her final years at The Oaks of Louisiana retirement community, where she found a wonderful circle of friends she affectionately called her “Oaks Folks Family.”

Kay is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas A. Brown; her daughter, Tara Kay Rainey Allday; her son, Steven Blake Rainey (Carrie); her grandchildren, Peyton Elizabeth Adcock Ward (Austin), Camden Alexander Rainey, Landry Nicole Rainey, and Owen Ridgley Rainey; her great-grandson, Leroy Dalton Ward; her brother, William H. “Bill” Alexander (Beth); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Seal Marie Richardson, 88, was born on November 27, 1937 in Farmerville, Louisiana to Len Eubanks and Dulcie Dean Eubanks and passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She married Roger Richardson in 1965 and had four children. She was an avid reader of true crime novels. Her job was within the home and taking care of others. Although she struggled with it sometimes, she had a strong faith in the Lord. She enjoyed the outdoors and all God’s creations. To know her was to lover her, and she will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Len Eubanks and Dulcie Dean Eubanks and husband, Roger Richardson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Janice Fricks, Donald Cecil Richardson, Gary Wayne Richardson and Deborah June Richardson; grandchildren, Shaketha Fricks Fontenot and Donathan Ray Fricks, great-grandchildren, Zoe Malanders, Mitchell Fonetenot V and Rayna Bell and a host of other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Shreveport Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 33-year-old woman early Sunday morning.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, at approximately 6:16 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported crash in the 5800 block of Fern Avenue near Business Park Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found a 2012 Fiat 500 overturned on its side. The Shreveport Fire Department responded to the scene, extinguished a small fire in the vehicle’s engine compartment, and extricated the driver from the vehicle.

The driver, a 33-year-old female, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Due to the fatal nature of the crash, the Shreveport Police Crash Investigations Unit responded to conduct the investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Fiat was traveling southbound on Fern Avenue when, for reasons that remain under investigation, it left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and overturned.

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took custody of the deceased.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Shreveport Police have arrested two suspects following an attempted check fraud incident that led to a vehicle pursuit on July 8, 2026.

SPD patrol officers were contacted after representatives from Barksdale Federal Credit Union, located at 8810 Youree Drive, reported an attempt to negotiate a fraudulent check. The suspects, identified as Jaderria Williams and Desmond Anderson, fled from the location in a vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit that ended in the 1000 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop after the vehicle crashed.

Both Williams and Anderson were detained by patrol officers. Detectives with the Shreveport-Caddo Financial Crimes Task Force responded and continued the investigation.

Investigators learned that Williams had allegedly successfully negotiated fraudulent checks at other Barksdale Federal Credit Union branches on July 7, 2026. The account involved had been frozen after the prior fraudulent activity, which prevented the attempted transaction at the Youree Drive branch on July 8.

Williams was booked into custody on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, hit and run, forgery, and a Louisiana Probation and Parole hold.

Anderson was booked into custody on charges of resisting an officer, possession of Schedule I marijuana, and a fugitive warrant out of Bossier Parish.

This arrest is another example of SPD patrol officers and Financial Crimes detectives working together to quickly identify suspects, protect victims, and hold offenders accountable.

The Bossier City Police Department recognized Lt. Michael Booker for his commitment to public service and leadership.

Lt. Booker has served the Bossier City Police Department for 28 years, working in Patrol, Detectives, Street Crimes, Training and currently as the supervisor over Information Services.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Lt. Booker has completed 34 years of active service in the United States Army.

The department said his decades of service reflect leadership, experience and dedication to both the community and the nation. Officials also expressed appreciation for his continued commitment and the positive influence he has on those he serves and those who serve alongside him.

The department encouraged the community to thank Lt. Booker for his service and congratulate him on his career.

Sheriff Julian Whittington and the staff at the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Viking Drive Substation hosted an appreciation fish fry for members of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Posse and their families to recognize their dedication and service to Bossier Parish.

The Posse is made up of volunteers who support the Sheriff’s Office and residents of the parish. In addition to completing specialized training, Posse members assist with traffic direction, vacation home checks, Operation Blessing and numerous community events throughout the year.

During the luncheon, Sheriff Whittington spoke about the importance of the Posse program and the role the volunteers play in supporting the mission of the Sheriff’s Office. He said Bossier Parish is fortunate to have men and women willing to give their time and talents in service to others.

Sgt. Alex Ware also addressed the group, thanking Posse members and their families for their commitment, sacrifice and continued support. He noted that volunteering requires time away from home and said their willingness to serve is appreciated by both the Sheriff’s Office and the community.

The event concluded with fellowship and recognition for the Posse volunteers. The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office thanked each member of the Posse and their families for their service, dedication and commitment to helping make the parish a better place to live.

Pamela Ann Cook Looney, 79, of Shreveport, LA, passed away on July 7, 2026. Born on September 14, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was a cherished resident of Shreveport, where she spent her final years.

Pamela leaves behind a loving family, including her life partner, Jim Gray; children Lanna Paul, Lowell Parker (Charolet), Karl LeGier (Christina), and bonus children Joshua Gray, Brittany Gray, Jordan Gray, and Gabriel Gray (Katlyn); and grandchildren Brooke Dorsey, Keelie Harrison, Alexandra Dodd, Claire Parker, and Halle LeGier. She is also survived by her brother, David Cook (Georgann), and her beloved pet, Dexter. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Jane Cook, her grandchild Brienna LeGier, and her brother Stephen Cook.

Pamela had a passion for decorating her home for every season and holiday, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who visited. She was a wonderful cook, known for her ability to whip up delicious meals for her family, and she had an unmatched love for shopping, always finding the best deals in town.

Pamela’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Princie Alene Allen, 90, will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at The Pentecostals of Bossier City, 2833 Viking Dr., Bossier City. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery in Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dean.

Princie Alene Allen, a beacon of faith and boundless love, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in her cherished hometown of Bossier City, Louisiana. Born on June 25, 1936, Princie lived a remarkable 90 years, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she encountered.

Her life was a testament to unwavering devotion, both to her spiritual calling and to the countless individuals she embraced with her open heart. She was the perfect example of unconditional love. Princie’s passion for her church was legendary. She was a constant and vibrant presence, her spirit radiating through every service and community gathering. Her faith was just not a belief; it was a living, breathing force that guided her every action and inspired those around her.

Beyond her deep spiritual commitment, Princie possessed a truly loving spirit and a rare gift that made her a friend to all. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for, and her warm smile and comforting presence will be profoundly missed.

She passed surrounded by her family, leaving behind a daughter, Sheila Bridegam; granddaughter, Crystal Bridegam; three adopted grandchildren, Luciana, Bryan, and Elsa; sister, Katie Peace; niece, Brigette Hughes (Bill Hughes); great-niece, Anna Kay Kennedy (Brendon Kennedy), and other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo B. Allen; parents, Lester and Leitha Barns; son, Jean Infinger; grandson, Pacqstan Bridegam; brothers, Kelly, Danny, and Louie Barns; sister, Ginger Fleming; and niece, Rhonda Peace.

Serving Princie as pallbearers will be Chris Bias, Kenny Posner, Robert Brown, Dan Conforti, Bill Hughes, Brandon Cox, Barry Williams, and Brendon Kennedy

Princie’s memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and the entire community of The Pentecostals of Bossier, where she built a life in kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. Her legacy of love, friendship, and spiritual devotion will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

The Shreveport Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on July 8, 2026, at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Lillian Street.

Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Alabama Avenue in reference to a major crash involving an E-bike and a van. Upon arrival, officers located a damaged E-bike and found a male and female lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Officers also located a white 2004 Chevrolet Express van at the scene that appeared to have been struck by the E-bike.

The Shreveport Fire Department responded and transported both riders to Ochsner LSU Health with life-threatening injuries. The female passenger was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The male operator of the E-bike was last listed in critical condition.

The Shreveport Police Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene and began an investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the Chevrolet van was traveling eastbound on Lillian Street and had stopped at the stop sign at Lillian Street and Alabama Avenue. The driver of the van stated that he entered the intersection and was then struck on the driver’s side rear tire area by the E-bike.

Witnesses reported that the male and female were riding the E-bike southbound on Alabama Avenue and were passing through the intersection when the van pulled from the stop sign into their path, causing the collision. Witness statements were consistent with the sequence of events provided by the van’s driver.

Investigators determined that the occupants of the E-bike were not wearing helmets or safety equipment. The E-bike was also not equipped with lights or reflectors.

The driver of the van remained on scene and was transported to Ochsner LSU Health, where he voluntarily submitted to a blood draw. The sample will be sent to the Northwest Louisiana Crime Lab for testing.

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office took possession of the deceased female victim. No citations were issued at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.

A man accused of gunning down a female acquaintance three years ago was convicted in Caddo District Court Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

The six-man, six-woman jury in District Judge Chris Victory’s court spent less than 15 minutes deliberating before returning its guilty-as-charged verdict against Edduin Silva, 22, of Shreveport. He was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the April 26, 2023 slaying of Amaya Jacobs. Ms. Jacobs, 35, was shot multiple times in the face as she drove near Fairfax Avenue and Morningside Drive in the Caddo Heights neighborhood.

Silva fired his .22 caliber AR-style rifle 13 times, striking Ms. Jacobs with multiple rounds. Surveillance video showed Silva, who admitted to police that he shot the victim,  pacing up and down in front of his house armed with the rifle moments before the shooting. Jurors heard evidence from Shreveport Police officers, crime scene investigators and several experts before retiring to deliberate.

When Silva returns to Judge Victory’s court for sentencing July 27, 2026, he faces a mandatory life term at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

Silva was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Victoria Washington and Courtney N. Ray. He was defended by Leslie Kelly.
