Shreveport Police responded to a shooting near A.B. Palmer Park just before 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. Two people sustained gunshot wounds to the leg and were transported to a local hospital. CPSO Hosts Free Safety Town Community Week Starting Tomorrow

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office invites the public to Safety Town Community Week beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport. Sept. 9 sessions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. will cover fire safety and active shooter awareness. Sept. 10 sessions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will focus on suicide prevention and gun safety for first responders, military, and the general public. All sessions are free.
