Caddo Fire District 3 responded to a grass fire in the 9100 block of Buncombe Road on Sept. 1 around 12:59 pm.

Fire crews arrived on scene and found that a burn pile had been lit and gotten out of control, spreading into the surrounding grass. Crews quickly brought the fire under control and extinguished it.

Caddo Parish remains under a burn ban.

Conditions remained extremely dry, and it did not take much for a small fire to quickly become an out-of-control grass or woods fire.

Residents are asked not to burn, including burn piles, leaves or debris, burn barrels or outdoor fires.
