Nighttime lane closures coming to Benton Road

A concrete pavement repair project is coming to LA 3 (Benton Road) in north Bossier City, with work scheduled to begin Thursday, September 10.

The City of Bossier City is investing in repairs to remove and replace damaged concrete panels along Benton Road from Viking Drive to Hospital Drive.

Lane closures are expected Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., as well as from 8 p.m. Friday evening through 6 a.m. Monday morning. Weekend daytime lane closures may also occur.

Construction will begin in the northbound outside (right) lane near Viking Drive and progress to other areas. Intermittent lane closures will be necessary as work moves forward.

Motorists are asked to slow down, stay alert and watch for warning signs when traveling through the construction zone.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2027, depending on weather and other construction factors.

The investment will provide an improved driving surface along this heavily traveled stretch of Benton Road and help extend the life of the roadway for the thousands of motorists who use it every day.
