Data Center Tax Moratorium Sent to Committee; Commission Vote Ahead

The Caddo Parish Commission work session Monday took up Commissioner John-Paul Young’s proposed two-year moratorium on new tax incentive agreements for future data center projects in unincorporated Caddo Parish. The resolution was voted to be sent back to the special projects committee rather than advanced directly to the full commission. Commissioner Ken Epperson also introduced a resolution requiring developers to conduct environmental studies on current projects in the parish. Both measures now await committee review ahead of the full commission regular meeting Thursday, Aug. 20.

BPSO Adds Grappler Tool to Patrol Vehicles to Manage Vehicle Pursuits

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office has equipped select patrol vehicles with a grappler tool designed to help deputies safely stop fleeing vehicles during high-speed pursuits. The device attaches to a vehicle’s rear axle, allowing deputies to bring it to a controlled stop without a dangerous collision. The tool is expected to reduce pursuit-related injuries to officers, suspects, and the public.

Bossier Parish Schools Moving Forward on Multi-Purpose Student Event Center

Construction is expected to begin soon on a new multi-purpose student event center for Bossier Parish Schools. The facility is designed to provide expanded space for student activities, events, and programming across the district.
