On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at approximately 5:47 p.m., Shreveport Police Department officers responded to a major crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and Camilla Drive.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2018 Lexus sedan was traveling through the intersection with a green arrow when it was struck by a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle.
The impact caused the motorcycle operator to be thrown from the motorcycle. His injuries were initially believed to be minor; however, he was transported by the Shreveport Fire Department to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport for treatment.
Patrol officers investigated the crash and documented the scene and area of impact. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
The driver of the Lexus was cited for driving with a suspended license.
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 12:18 a.m., investigators were notified that the motorcycle operator had died at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport as a result of his injuries.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
