Shreveport Hotel Stabbing Leads to Teen’s Arrest

Shreveport police arrested 18-year-old Sebastian Martinez following a stabbing at the Homewood Suites on Financial Plaza Sunday evening, Aug. 9. Two men got into an altercation and Martinez allegedly pulled a knife and cut the other man. Martinez faces a charge of aggravated battery. The investigation is ongoing.

Caddo Man Arrested for Violating Protective Order, Installing Surveillance Equipment at Victim’s Home

Thomas Scott Smith was arrested Aug. 8 after investigators determined he returned to a victim’s home on Aug. 5 — in violation of a court-ordered protective order — and attempted to install video surveillance equipment inside the residence. Smith was already out on bond for seven prior counts of violating a protective order and cyberstalking. Security camera footage captured him at both the home and the entrance to the community. He was located at Live Casino in Bossier City, taken into custody, and transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center.
