K9 Karo once again proved why he is one of the Shreveport Police Department’s most valuable crime fighters.

While assisting the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force, officers served a felony warrant on Jose F. Caal Pop (DOB: 12/17/1997), who was wanted out of New Jersey on charges including aggravated sexual assault, sexual battery, and molestation of a juvenile after allegedly fleeing to Louisiana to evade capture.

Despite repeated commands, the suspect refused to surrender and remained hidden inside the residence. That’s when K9 Karo was deployed.

Karo quickly tracked the suspect to the second floor of the home, where he engaged and apprehended him, bringing the standoff to a swift and safe conclusion. The suspect sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene, and was transported to the Shreveport City Jail for booking pending extradition.

When suspects choose to hide instead of surrender, they should remember one thing: K9 Karo doesn’t quit until the job is done.
