The City of Shreveport says work is continuing to strengthen the city’s water infrastructure as part of ongoing efforts to improve reliability and future water system ratings.
According to city officials, one of the areas affecting Shreveport’s current Water Grade is infrastructure, including the need for standby generators at critical locations throughout the water system.
The city reported that concrete pads for the generators have already been installed and generator units have been ordered as part of a long-term infrastructure improvement plan.
Officials said nationwide supply chain issues and extended manufacturing timelines for large-scale equipment are delaying delivery, which is currently expected in early next year.
City leaders stated the generators are expected to improve system resilience, strengthen infrastructure reliability, and support future improvements to the city’s Water Grade once installed.
The City of Shreveport said it is continuing to invest in long-term infrastructure projects aimed at addressing ongoing system needs and improving services for residents.
