Caddo Parish to host Family Christmas Festival, holiday events Dec. 19–20

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Gingerbread House and GEYA (Giving Education Your All), will host a series of holiday events as part of the Shreveport Family Christmas Festival, bringing family-centered activities, wellness programming, and seasonal celebrations to downtown Shreveport.
The main festival event will take place Saturday, December 20, 2025, from noon to 4 p.m. at Festival Plaza, located at 101 Crockett Street. The event is free and open to the public.

A new feature debuting this year is The Energy Zone, sponsored by Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation. The Energy Zone is a high-energy, health-focused activation space designed to encourage physical activity, movement, and wellness for participants of all ages. Festival activities will also include exercise demonstrations, family games, health and education information, giveaways, live entertainment, and a Gumbeaux Cook Off.

The Shreveport Family Christmas Festival is part of a broader weekend of holiday events. Festivities will begin Friday, December 19, with the Heroes of the Heart Christmas Gala, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Petroleum Club. The gala will celebrate the spirit of giving and recognize everyday heroes who make a difference in the community.

On Saturday, December 20, the Shreveport Family Christmas Parade will step off at 4:30 p.m. at Clyde Fant Veterans Park, featuring floats, community groups, and holiday cheer along the riverfront. The Shreveport Family Christmas Festival will continue at Festival Plaza from noon until 8 p.m., offering extended opportunities for families to enjoy holiday activities and entertainment.

Organizers say the events are designed to bring together families, friends, and community partners while promoting wellness, connection, and holiday spirit throughout Caddo Parish.
