Lynn Beaty sworn-in as Bossier Parish Police Juror for District 1

Lynn Beaty, a lifelong resident of Haughton and respected business owner, was officially sworn in as the new Bossier Parish Police Juror for District 1 during the Nov. 5 meeting. Judge Jeff Thompson administered the oath of office.

Just before the swearing-in, Jury President Mr. Glenn Benton presented Mr. Kim Gaspard with a plaque recognizing his service and willingness to represent District 1 in honor of the late Bob Brotherton from Jan. 25 – Oct. 1, 2025.

Beaty was elected in October to fill the seat previously held by Brotherton, a longtime public servant whose contributions to the parish were fondly remembered. Beaty brought decades of experience in the timber and construction industries, having founded Beaty Logging in 1977. He was also known for co-hosting the outdoor television series The Way It Was, which celebrated traditional values and Louisiana’s natural heritage.

District 1 includes the southernmost portions of Bossier Parish and extends north through Haughton. As Police Juror, Beaty expressed his commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing public safety, promoting responsible growth, and supporting law enforcement.

“I’m honored to serve the people of District 1 and continue the legacy of leadership and service that Bob Brotherton exemplified,” Beaty said. “I look forward to working with my fellow jurors to keep Bossier Parish strong and moving forward.”

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Bossier Parish Courthouse during the regularly scheduled Police Jury meeting.
