The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office has launched its 5th Annual Purple Box Project, a community initiative dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence. The campaign, which runs through November 10, encourages residents to collect and donate essential items to help individuals and families in crisis.
Through the Purple Box Project, participants are invited to decorate or use a purple box and fill it with personal care and household essentials such as hygiene products, soap, toothpaste, socks, underwear, diapers, and baby wipes. Once filled, boxes may be delivered to the District Attorney’s Office or scheduled for pickup.
All donated items are distributed directly to local partner organizations, including Providence House, Project Celebration, and the Caddo Family Justice Center.
District Attorney James E. Stewart Sr. said the initiative reflects the office’s continued commitment to helping survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
“Every purple box represents compassion and a community standing together against domestic violence,” Stewart said. “When survivors leave dangerous situations, they often have nothing. This project ensures that they have immediate access to the essentials they need.”
The Purple Box Project began four years ago and has since grown through the partnership of local residents, organizations, and businesses united in the effort to fight domestic violence and support victims throughout Caddo Parish.
