Local sports fans have one less place to walk in and buy swag, so they can represent their favorite team.
Local seafood lovers have one less place to satisfy their taste buds.
Sunday, Tiger Den, and Joe’s Crab Shack, each announced their closure.
In a Sunday Facebook post, Tiger Den, a sports apparel store at 8727 Business Park Drive in the Shreveport Auto Mall, said its store front is now closed. However, Tiger Den will still sell merchandise through its website. Tiger Den opened just prior to the 2024 football season, featuring LSU clothing and décor. The store also sold a limited number of items representing other colleges, as well as the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys.
Also Sunday, a sign on the door at Joe’s Crab Shack—located at the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City, let customers know the restaurant was closed. The sign read “We are grateful for the support of our community and encourage our guests to visit us at another sister location nearby!”
According to its website, the closest locations to Shreveport-Bossier are Galveston, Texas, and Branson, Missouri. Joe’s Crab Shack has been at the Boardwalk for most of the shopping center’s 20 years.
Joe’s Crab Shack is the second restaurant at the Boardwalk to recently close. Hooters shut down in late April. According to the Boardwalk’s online store directory, only two restaurants remain—Salt Grass Steak House, and Shshiko Sushi & Grill.
