With outstanding regular seasons, Benton, Captain Shreve, Haughton, Loyola, and Northwood earned the right to host LHSAA regional round baseball playoff series beginning today.
The teams play best-of-3 matchups for the chance to advance into next week’s state quarterfinals.
In the only local series that began Thursday, 10th-seeded Lafayette Christian (22-11) built a 4-1 lead and stopped a two-run bottom of the seventh rally by Calvary (24-11). The teams will meet in Game 2 of the best-of-3 series at CBA at 4, with a third game if necessary to follow, penciled in at 6.
