Shreveport Police officers responded to a call about a stolen UPS truck at 1907 Jim Casey Drive on Feb. 17. The suspect, Skyler Jarvis, must have thought he was on express delivery because he led officers on a high-speed pursuit in the stolen truck, which just so happened to be loaded with firearms and controlled substances.
During the chase, Jarvis struck two SPD units, including a patrol vehicle and a K-9 unit. Turns out, ramming police cars isn’t a great escape strategy. The pursuit ended when Jarvis crashed at Bert Kouns and I-49, where K-9 Edy made sure his one-way trip ended in custody—no tracking number needed.
Jarvis was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked on multiple charges, including Aggravated Flight, Attempted First-Degree Murder, and Auto Theft. The investigation remains ongoing.
Big shoutout to the SPD officers and K-9 Edy for ensuring this stolen package made it to its final destination: jail.
