Man arrested following disturbing incident

Jeffrey Reed

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested Jeffrey Reed following a disturbing incident that occurred on Feb. 6 around 2am. At that time, Reed reportedly picked up two juveniles, ages 13 and 14, and transported them to a motel located in the 3900 block of Greenwood Rd.

The juveniles had left their residence to visit a friend’s house around 11pm on Feb. 5. While returning home, Reed offered them a ride but instead took them to a motel. At the motel, Reed allegedly refused to allow the juveniles to leave, displayed pornographic images, and attempted to sexually assault them.

Reed has been charged with the following offenses:

  • 2 counts of Simple Kidnapping
  • 2 counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
  • 1 count of False Imprisonment

Officers apprehended Reed after deploying a Taser due to his resistance. He was transported to a local area hospital, where he was treated for injuries sustained during the arrest.
