Board positions available on BPPJ

The Bossier Parish Police Jury is currently accepting resumes for two upcoming vacancies on the Bossier Parish Communications District No. 1 Board of Directors. This appointment is for a four-year term, with the terms set to begin on March 1. The board meets at 4601 Palmetto Road, Benton, on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30pm, as needed. Meetings are generally an hour long, with additional time investment needed to review agenda items. Additional meetings are considered “needs-based” and may be required throughout the year.
 
To qualify, one should be a registered voter residing within the district. Duties of the board include budget and investment decisions, long-range planning, and community/public relations matters. Knowledge of business management, emergency communications, and processes, and previous experience in leadership is helpful but not required. Attendance at two-thirds of the regularly scheduled meetings of the Board is required unless excused by sickness of the Member or his/her immediate family.
