The Shreveport-Bossier Journal won’t publish Thursday, July 4, to honor our nation’s Independence Day and to give our staff a holiday break.
We’ll be back in your e-mail box with free and fresh locally-focused content Friday morning at 6:55, online at ShreveportBossierJournal.com and on our Facebook.com/shreveportbossierjournal page, where if any major news breaks in the meantime, we’ll have it there for you.

Enjoy your holiday break, whether it’s just for Thursday or hopefully a very long and enjoyable weekend.
Celebrate the heritage of our great United States of America, which boldly declared independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, then successfully fought for the rights we still enjoy today. We encourage you to reflect on those courageous revolutionaries and all who have defended our liberty and justice since, as you enjoy Independence Day festivities.
Great appreciation to our military, first responders, caregivers, and other public servants who work during the holiday, along with many others who help our communities continue to function even when so many of us are kicking back and enjoying our families, friends, and favorite pastimes.
God bless America!
