
May 2 marked a significant milestone for the Shreveport Police Department as Chief Wayne Smith, alongside his command staff, convened the inaugural meeting of the Chief’s Advisory Council. This council represents a vital link between law enforcement and the community, fostering open dialogue and collaboration on key issues affecting the city.
Comprising proactive leaders from diverse backgrounds within the community, the members of the Chief’s Advisory Council were carefully selected by the independent Third Judicial Circuit (TJC) group.
Their demonstrated commitment to proactive leadership roles within the community ensures a diverse range of perspectives and expertise.
The Chief’s Advisory Council provides a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration between law enforcement and the community. A representative from TJC group stated the of the group is to “give knowledge that leads to understanding and from understanding will come trust.”
