The 26th annual Wayne Curtis Memorial Objets D’Art Fundraiser is set to continue its tradition of supporting the Red River Revel on February 22 at Riverview Hall in Shreveport. This event, established in 1996 by Wayne Curtis and named in his honor after his passing, aims to raise $10,000 to bolster the artist jury awards at the Revel and elevate the caliber of artists attracted to the festival each year.
Featuring 85 original art pieces valued at $100 or more from Revel artists, attendees of the fundraiser will have the opportunity to peruse the curated collection and select their favorites. The evening’s program includes a unique twist where guests’ names will be drawn, allowing them to choose an artwork from the available selection. To add an element of excitement, attendees can also “steal” a chosen artwork from another guest for an additional cost of $200, with purchased “pick protection” available to safeguard selections from theft.
General admission tickets, priced at $150.00, admit two guests and include dinner along with one art piece selection. Additionally, “pick protection” can be purchased separately for $50.00. With only 85 tickets available, guests are encouraged to secure their spots promptly through the event’s online ticketing platform. The evening’s festivities commence with Happy Hour and art viewing at 5:00 pm, followed by dinner served at 6:00 pm, and the program kicking off at 6:30 pm.
