Some of Louisiana’s top cowboys and cowgirls will take center stage Friday-Sunday in the Louisiana Rodeo Cowboys Association Finals Rodeo at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum.

Known as the “Super Bowl” of the LRCA circuit, the event brings together top competitors from across the region to compete for championship titles and rodeo bragging rights.

Over three performances, spectators can experience rodeo events including Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie Down Roping, Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping and Bull Riding. Each event tests competitors’ skill, timing, and ability to perform under pressure. For contestants, the finals are an opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed throughout the season.

This year’s program also features special guests Rider and Bethany Kiesner. Bethany’s trick riding, combined with Rider’s rope and whip acts, brings a distinctive Western performance to the weekend. Rider is a four-time world champion trick roper, and the couple has performed at major rodeo events across the country.

Whether longtime rodeo fans or attending for the first time, spectators can enjoy the excitement of the competition and the special performances in the arena.

“As someone who grew up rodeo and in the Western lifestyle, I enjoy being able to help bring this event to the fair each and every year to continue that tradition,” said Casey McBeath, LRCA board member.

“The contestants are from our region. They are the best of the best of our area, and the families who are coming from not just Shreveport, but from the surrounding areas are actually getting to see their friends and neighbors compete on this large scale,” said McBeath.

Shows on Friday and Saturday start at 6:30 p.m. The final performance Sunday is at 3 p.m. Doors open one hour before each show.

Fairgoers can also choose from three special VIP experiences. Friday’s Denim & Dust includes a pre-rodeo dinner and an opportunity to meet the Kiesners. Saturday’s Glitz & Grit offers a Southern-style meal and VIP seating options, while Sunday’s Boots & Buckles features a catered meal and live music. More details about these experiences are available through the State Fair website.

Tickets range from $23 to $38.50 and include admission to the State Fair of Louisiana. Tickets and additional information are available at StateFairOfLouisiana.com.
