A funeral service to celebrate the life of David Harold Rigsby, 76, will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Haughton, 105 E. Washington Ave., Haughton, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery in Haughton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. David was born on January 13, 1950, to H.O. Rigsby and Betty Rigsby in Shreveport, Louisiana, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 19, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
David earned his master’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University-Shreveport (LSUS) and built a life marked by dedication, service, and quiet strength. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserve after 23 years of commitment and later retired from CenterPoint Energy, where his steady work ethic and reliability were well known. David enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but the greatest joys of his life were rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He faithfully served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church Haughton, living out his beliefs with humility and devotion.
For 55 years, David shared a loving marriage with Carolyn Rigsby, now deceased, and together they built a family he cherished deeply. His grandchildren and great‑grandchildren were the light of his life, and he carried immense pride and affection for each of them. David’s legacy is one of faith, service, and family, a life lived with purpose, compassion, and unwavering love.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Rigsby; parents, H.O. and Betty Rigsby; daughter, Cassandra Rigsby; and his sister, Deborah Rigsby.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Kevin H. Rigsby and wife, Rebecca, Scott K. Rigsby, and Bradley W. Rigsby; grandchildren, Mariah Abshire and Erin Rigsby; step-grandchild, Jacob Tadlock, and wife, Grace; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Ritch and Cecilia Tadlock; and sister, Glorietta Walker.
Serving David as honorary pallbearers will be the First Baptist Haughton Deacons.
