The long-awaited Louisiana Tech at ULM confrontation was scoreless at halftime and the Bulldogs kept the Warhawks off the board all night to highlight area college football action Saturday.

LOUISIANA TECH 24, ULM 0: A dominant defensive performance and three second-half touchdowns carried the Bulldogs past in-state rival ULM Saturday night at FMOL Health | St. Francis Stadium, extending Tech’s winning streak to three games while remaining unbeaten in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Bulldogs (4-2, 2-0 SBC) earned their first shutout since defeating Southeastern Louisiana, 24-0, in the 2025 season opener and their first shutout victory in Monroe since a 23-0 win over ULM (0-6, 0-2 SBC) in 1988. It was the first meeting of the neighborhood rivals since 2000.

After a scoreless first half, Louisiana Tech seized control after Taeden Rogers intercepted a ULM pass on the opening play of the third quarter. The turnover sparked the Bulldogs’ offense, which capitalized on the short field with a touchdown drive capped by Sergio Snider’s 5-yard scoring run, and added another score a few minutes later.

The Warhawks (0-6, 0-2) threatened to spoil the shutout on their final possession, advancing inside the Tech 20-yard line before the Bulldog defense forced a turnover on downs with 1:38 remaining.

ALABAMA A&M 61, GRAMBLING 31: At Huntsville, Ala,  Grambling State led by two touchdowns early, but Alabama A&M scored 44 unanswered points between the second and third quarters on Saturday at Louis Crews Stadium. Grambling State fell to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in SWAC play.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-2 and 3-1 as they outgained the Tigers 669 yards to 241 and held the ball for 33:37 to Grambling State’s 26:23.

MCNEESE 24, NORTHWESTERN STATE 21: The Demons surrendered a halftime lead, their first of the season, as the Cowboys scored on their first three series of the second half and held off an NSU rally, hampered by five turnovers – four lost fumbles by NSU.

Northwestern (0-7, 0-3 in the Southland Conference) had its best defensive outing of the season, notching nine tackles for lost yards and containing an explosive McNeese offense. But the Demons faltered starting the third quarter and the Cowboys (3-5, 2-2) took control, going up 24-7.

Demons quarterback Zach Wilcke threw three touchdown passes but lost a fumble at the McNeese 10 and threw an interception at the Cowboys’ 7 in the closing minutes.

CENTENARY 26, AUSTIN COLLEGE 23: At Atkins Field, visiting Austin College missed a 38-yard field goal on the last play Saturday night, and Centenary escaped in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference thriller. The Kangaroos outgained the Gents 455-246, a complete reversal of the game the teams played two weeks ago won by Centenary at AC by 37-13.

The Gents improved to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in SCAC play while the ‘Roos dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in SCAC play.  Centenary led 26-16 with 4:42 remaining after a 1-yard plunge by Stephen George, but AC scored with 1:50 to go, then forced a three-and-out and drove 59 yards to get the game-tying attempt.
