The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office recently hosted a Women’s Firearms & Safety Course at the CPSO Regional Training Academy.

Participants spent the day learning skills to build confidence, awareness and preparedness. The course included instruction on personal safety awareness, self-defense basics, firearms familiarization, and information about available resources and support.

The instructors worked with a group of women who participated in the course, asked questions and gained hands-on experience in a safe, supportive environment.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said programs like the course are part of its commitment to equipping community members with knowledge and skills needed to keep themselves and their families safe.

The November course is already full, and 2027 dates will be announced in the near future.
