Two men charged following Youree Drive shooting

Shreveport Police have charged two men following an investigation into a shooting that occurred October 3, 2026, near Youree Drive and East Dazelle Avenue.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired and quickly began locating evidence associated with the incident. During the response, officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area and discovered Cadarius Bumcon (DOB 09/27/2004) suffering from three gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A short time later, another individual contacted SPD and reported his involvement in the shooting.

Through the investigation, detectives determined that Bumcon and Deangelo Robinson (DOB 06/29/2004) had allegedly followed the individual while he was making Uber deliveries. Investigators determined that the encounter eventually led to an exchange of gunfire after Bumcon and Robinson allegedly fired at the individual’s vehicle and he returned fire.

Responding officers did an outstanding job locating and securing multiple areas where evidence from the incident was found. Violent Crimes investigators then worked to collect that evidence, interview those involved, and establish the sequence of events.

Investigators recovered numerous shell casings, along with a ski mask, gloves, and other evidence. During a subsequent interview, Robinson admitted to his involvement after being advised of his Miranda rights. Bumcon declined to provide a statement.

Based on the investigation, Bumcon and Robinson were both charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

This incident involved specific individuals, and investigators have identified and charged the two suspects believed responsible for initiating the gunfire. At this time, investigators have not identified any ongoing threat to the general public related to this incident.

The Shreveport Police Department commends the patrol officers and Violent Crimes investigators whose careful work across multiple locations helped piece together what occurred.
