Although areas of Bossier Parish received some much-needed rain over the weekend, the burn ban remained in effect.
The National Weather Service reported that while the rainfall may have provided some minor improvement to drought conditions across parts of the region, conditions in Northwest Louisiana remained dry.
Warm and dry conditions were expected to return, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. These conditions were expected to continue contributing to elevated fire danger.
Residents were asked to continue observing the burn ban and avoid outdoor burning until conditions improved and the ban was lifted.
