Mayor Arceneaux Submits Proposed 2027 Budget to City Council
City of Shreveport
Mayor Tom Arceneaux has submitted a proposed $679.9 million budget for fiscal year 2027 to the Shreveport City Council. The plan includes a General Fund of $337.6 million — a 1.8 percent increase over the current year — and proposes a 6 percent pay raise for police and firefighters effective Dec. 1, in addition to a standard 2 percent annual increase for all city employees. The budget also allocates $46 million for capital projects, including improvements at the Shreveport Regional Airport, city golf courses, and SporTran. “This budget does that. It is balanced, fiscally sound, supports the employees who serve this city every day,” Arceneaux said. The City Council has until Dec. 15 to adopt the budget.
