Caddo Parish leaders unite against domestic violence

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with community partners, joined the City of Shreveport for a press conference, “Community Leaders United Against Domestic Violence.”

The event marked the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and showcased Caddo’s Coordinated Response Model, highlighting the community’s commitments to prevention, survivor support and accountability.

Since the initiative began, the community has made progress toward changing how it responds to domestic violence. The Caddo Coordinated Response Model provides a framework for agencies and organizations to work more closely together while keeping survivor safety at the center of the response.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Domestic Violence Unit works with law enforcement, prosecutors, shelters, hospitals, schools, mental health providers and social service agencies to strengthen the network of support available to victims.

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month is recognized, survivors throughout Caddo Parish are reminded that they are not alone, deserve to be heard and deserve support.
