Two members of Bossier Parish Fire District #1 attended Trench Rescue Technician training last week, hosted by the Louisiana Fire & Emergency Training Academy.

Training Captain Jeffrey Hardy and Senior Firefighter Christopher Long spent the week learning and developing specialized skills needed to safely and effectively respond to a trench rescue incident.

Trench rescues are complex and extremely hazardous incidents that require specialized training, equipment and teamwork.

Bossier Parish Fire District #1 said it is proud of the firefighters’ commitment to continuing their education and expanding their skill sets to better serve the community.
