Today, Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington presented Carson Bryant of Benton High School with an academic scholarship through the Louisiana Sheriff’s Scholarship Program.

Bryant, a Benton resident, attends Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where he is pursue a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He is the son of Kyle and Kirstian Bryant.

The scholarship is funded through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program, which provides scholarships to graduating seniors in parishes where the local sheriff participates in the program. Recipients are selected based on academic performance, leadership and character.

Sheriff Whittington said, “Carson has demonstrated a strong commitment to his education and his future, and we are proud to support him as he takes this next step. Investing in students like Carson is an investment in the future of our state.”
