The Shreveport Police Department is moving forward with construction of its new police headquarters.

With three new substations completed, construction on the new headquarters is now underway. Demolition is complete, and the next phase includes modern upgrades and new facilities while preserving the historic exterior and character of the Shreveport landmark.

Chief Wayne Smith met with the construction team this week to review progress and discuss the work ahead.

The department said the project is an investment in its officers, the community and the future of public safety in Shreveport.
