Bossier Parish Fire District 1 was dispatched to a reported grass fire on Sept. 18 around 2 pm on Jennifer Lane in the Gray Lake Subdivision.

Upon arrival, crews found that the grass fire had spread to a home on the property as well as three additional yards. Command requested assistance from the Haughton Fire Department for additional manpower.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. One resident was evaluated by EMS at the scene.

The response included three engines, two brush trucks, two chiefs and one EMS unit. The Haughton Fire Department responded with one brush truck.

Bossier Parish remains under a burn ban. Extremely dry conditions can allow fires to spread rapidly and unexpectedly, putting homes, property and lives at risk.
