On September 5, 2026, at approximately noon, multiple local and state law enforcement agencies came together to address ongoing firearm complaints and violent activity at Copper Road Plaza, 2929 Peach Street.

The operation included members of the Shreveport Police Department VCAT, Louisiana State Police Gator Task Force, Shreveport City Marshal’s Office, SPD OSI, Real Time Crime Center, DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office Air Support, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and Caddo Parish Juvenile Services.

Investigators developed and executed a coordinated enforcement plan that resulted in the seizure of:

• 40 grams of marijuana

• 86 dosage units of suspected ecstasy

• 2 handguns

• 1 handgun equipped with a Glock switch

• 1 AR-style pistol

Two individuals are also being referred to federal authorities for case review:

Handling and Possessing a Machine Gun

This operation was about more than making arrests and seizing guns. It was about preventing the next shooting before it happened.

When officers receive repeated complaints of firearms and violent activity in an area, we cannot afford to wait until someone is shot or killed before taking action. We believe this coordinated operation removed dangerous weapons from the streets and may very well have prevented future shootings or homicides in this area.
