The Shreveport Police Department was investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Monday, Sept. 7, at approximately 4:10 p.m. in the 7500 block of Gideon Street.

A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, and the driver fled the scene. The victim was transported for medical treatment but later died as a result of her injuries.

Investigators asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash, had information about the vehicle involved or had home or business security camera footage from the area to contact the Shreveport Police Department.

Investigators said even if someone did not witness the crash, their camera may have captured a vehicle traveling through the area before or after the collision.

Information or video could help investigators identify the driver and solve the case.
