Shreveport Police arrested Courtery Brunson following an investigation into the destruction of more than 400 feet of fiber optic cable on Buncombe Road.
The damage was discovered Aug. 21 and caused an estimated $10,000 in losses.
Shreveport Police Department Property Crimes investigators reviewed photographs, license plate reader information and other evidence to identify a vehicle believed to have been involved. Just days later, investigators spotted the same vehicle in Shreveport and coordinated with patrol officers to conduct a traffic stop.
Further investigation and a positive witness identification led to Brunson’s arrest for felony simple criminal damage to property.
The Shreveport Police Department said the case was an example of detectives, technology and patrol officers working together to hold offenders accountable.
