Bossier Parish Fire District #1 announced on Aug. 21 the Line of Duty Death of Fire Chief Robert W. Roe after his courageous battle with cancer.

Chief Roe dedicated 37 years of his life to serving the citizens of Bossier Parish, starting his career as a Junior Firefighter at 16 years old and working his way through the ranks to the highest rank of Fire Chief.

The department asked the public to keep the Roe family and its firefighters in their prayers as they navigate this difficult time.
