Caddo Parish Public Schools joined education leaders from across Louisiana for the 20th annual Cecil J. Picard Excellence in Education Gala, an event celebrating the best in public education.

Two Caddo educators were recognized among the state’s most elite professionals during the event.

Monica Speyrer of C.E. Byrd High School was recognized as a finalist for Louisiana Teacher of the Year, while Shannon Wall of Northwood High School was honored as a semifinalist for Louisiana Principal of the Year.

Caddo Parish Public Schools congratulated Wall and Speyrer on their recognition and said the district is proud of their accomplishments.
