The Shreveport Police Department announced it has been made aware of an incident involving one of its officers in a neighboring jurisdiction.
According to the department, Chief Wayne Smith was notified that Officer Curtis Streetman, who has been employed by the Shreveport Police Department since 2024, was arrested in Red River Parish on a charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (First Offense).
In accordance with department policy, Streetman was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both the criminal case and the department’s internal review.
The department said the circumstances surrounding the arrest are not yet known. Because the Shreveport Police Department is not the investigating agency, it said it does not have additional details regarding the incident.
The department also stated it does not have access to the booking photograph. Any booking photograph or additional information related to the arrest will be released, if appropriate, by the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Wayne Smith stated, “This is disappointing, however we will remain transparent and ensure this matter is handled appropriately.”
The Shreveport Police Department said it remains committed to transparency and accountability and that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
