Local, state, and federal leaders gathered this week in Shreveport for a meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in the prosecution of violent offenders and improving coordination among law enforcement agencies across the region.

The meeting, hosted by the United States Attorney’s Office, was attended by Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith, along with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Mayor Tom Arceneaux, and Caddo Parish District Attorney James Stewart. Representatives from the Louisiana State Police and other regional law enforcement agencies also participated.

Officials discussed strategies aimed at improving communication between agencies, coordinating enforcement operations, and ensuring violent offenders are effectively prosecuted and held accountable.

The Shreveport Police Department thanked the United States Attorney’s Office and Louisiana State Police for their leadership, noting that strong partnerships remain critical in efforts to reduce violent crime and improve public safety across the region.
