The Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned a single indictment during its session that concluded Tuesday, June 16.

Jonathan Wesley Rachal, 38, of Shreveport, was indicted on one count of first-degree rape and two counts of molestation of a juvenile.

Rachal is currently being held at the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on March 6. Bond has been set at $1 million on the first-degree rape charge and $500,000 on each of the molestation charges.

Due to the nature of the allegations, the indictment has been filed under seal. No additional information has been released.

An indictment is a formal accusation and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
