
Linda Lee Leach Brown, 81, of Shreveport, passed away May 14, 2026, at The Carpenter House following a long illness.
Born Jan. 7, 1945, in Shreveport, Linda was the daughter of the late Bill and Ruth Wise Leach. She attended Woodlawn High School and graduated from Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1963. She studied art and education at the University of Mississippi, Centenary College of Louisiana and Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
During the 1970s, Linda was appointed as the first female member of the Bossier General Hospital Board. She also served on the Educational Accountability Task Force for the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and participated in numerous civic organizations throughout her life.
Linda enjoyed a long career as a paralegal and legal secretary. She was also passionate about culinary arts, painting, fashion and interior design.
She is survived by her sons, Warren Brown and Jason Brown and wife Melissa; daughter, Ashley Jackson and husband Robert; grandchildren Abigail and Kathryn Jackson, Courtney Goodlett and husband Brad, Whitney McCormick and husband Ben, and Rachel Elder and husband Max; and seven great-grandchildren, Emma and Easton Goodlett, Atlas and Hudson McCormick, and Jaxon, August and Raleigh Elder.
She is also survived by her sisters, Crickett Forrest and husband Jim, and Mary Krepak, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Billy Doyle Leach, and her great-aunt, Nannie Backus.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family expressed gratitude to Ochsner LSU Health and The Carpenter House for their care, compassion and dedication during Linda’s illness.
