
An ambulance with Caddo Fire District 4 was involved in a traffic crash while transporting a patient on June 1, according to district officials.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Colquitt Road and Dean Road. Officials said Medic 410 was transporting a patient to Willis-Knighton South Hospital and was operating with emergency lights and sirens activated when it was struck on the driver’s side by an SUV driven by a female motorist.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
A second ambulance, Medic 420, was dispatched to the scene and continued transporting the patient to the hospital.
The Shreveport Police Department is investigating the crash.
Caddo Fire District 4 reminded motorists to remain alert and exercise caution when approaching emergency vehicles operating with lights and sirens, noting that emergency responders often rely on every second when responding to calls and transporting patients requiring urgent medical care.
