Caddo Parish Public Schools has announced that Cortney McCall will lead Bethune/Oak Park Elementary as its next principal for the 2026-2027 school year.
McCall joins the school with an extensive background in instructional leadership and a proven track record in school improvement, teacher development, and student intervention. He is notably a two-time, back-to-back Principal of the Year winner, having received the prestigious honor for both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.
District officials highlighted McCall’s data-driven approach to student achievement and his commitment to community engagement as key factors in his appointment. His leadership style focuses on setting clear academic goals, providing meaningful professional development for educators, and strengthening support systems for students.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. McCall to Caddo and look forward to the leadership, energy, and focus he will bring to the Bethune/Oak Park community,” the district stated in an announcement on May 15.
In addition to his academic focus, McCall is recognized for his efforts in increasing family and community participation within the school environment. He is expected to begin his new role at the start of the upcoming school year.
