The Louisiana Tech football team will stage a spring practice session in Bossier City this evening, continuing a series of appearances stretching back several years.

The Bulldogs will stage their “Red River Run Through” workout at 6 o’clock at Freedom Fields. Gates open at 5. Admission is free.

The event will feature interactive games for kids, and a meet and greet session with the team following the practice.

The Tech spring game is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston.

Tech has made December visits in each of the last two years to play in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, losing to Army in 2024 then beating Coastal Carolina last year.

Bulldogs coach Sonny Cumbie is beginning his fifth season in Ruston, coming off his first winning record. Tech finished 8-5 last fall.

Among a handful of staff changes, Nate Young was promoted from offensive line coach to offensive coordinator. Tony Franklin retired after just one season.
