The LHSAA baseball postseason starts today for Airline and Friday for at least four, possibly five local teams. Five more have some time off.

Only Evangel has a home series, but ECA’s Select Division I matchup against No. 19 Liberty has not been posted on the LHSAA website or school social media. The Eagles are seeded 14th.

Airline, 17th in Non-Select Division I, goes to No. 16 Mandeville. The series begins today at 6, at the same time Friday, with an if-necessary game Saturday at 11.

Also in Non-Select DI, No. 24 Northwood visits ninth-seeded Sulphur Friday at 6 with a possible doubleheader Saturday starting at noon.

No. 18 Haughton squares off with 15th-seeded Southside in Lafayette Friday at 4, followed by a potential twinbill Saturday beginning at 11.

Byrd, 18th in Select Division I, goes to New Orleans to play No. 15 St. Augustine Friday in a 4:30/7:00 doubleheader with an if-needed game Saturday at 10.

The remaining local teams don’t play until next week: Benton, Calvary, Captain Shreve, Loyola – all with first-round byes – and Plain Dealing, competing in the single-elimination Non-Select Division IV field.
