A funeral service for Kenneth Frank Cook, 89, of Bossier City, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Algoma North Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel.
Kenneth was born April 21, 1936, in St. Louis Missouri to Emory and Nora Cook and passed away on February 5, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
He met his future bride while on leave from the Air Force and when his enlistment was up, he moved to Marshall and married Reba Jewel Oney on October 15, 1957. They were blessed with sixty-four wonderful years together before Reba was called home. They were entrepreneurs who spent almost 60 years running their own businesses in both the construction and hospitality industries. Ken never met a stranger and had a soft heart for those in need. He loved the Lord and his family and made it a priority to spend time with both. He was a member of Countryside Christian Church and resided at the Northwest Louisiana War Veteran’s Home.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Reba Cook; parents, Emory and Nora Cook; brothers, Walter, Bill, Bob, and Chuck Cook; sisters, Marjorie Oney and Dorothy Gregory and his great- grandson, Taylor Henry.
He is survived by two children, Kenneth (Perri) Cook of Leesburg, FL and Nancy (Darrel) Dinkins of Shreveport, LA. He was the proud “Paps” to Kimberly Cook, David Henry, Michael Henry, David Dinkins and McKenzie Ewald. He was also blessed with ten great grandchildren (with another on the way) and three great-great grandchildren to spoil. He is also survived by his three siblings, Jenny Johnson, Nancy Clark, and Larry Cook.
The family would like to thank the staff, especially Laura Gregorio of the NW LA Veteran’s Home for their loving care.
