Bossier Sheriff’s Office honors excellence at end-of-year celebration

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office recently held its annual end-of-year celebration, recognizing outstanding service and dedication across the agency.

Employee of the Year honors were awarded to:
• Deputy Christopher Harry, Criminal Division
• Sgt. Joe Normand, Corrections Division
• Mrs. Patti Evans, Support Division

Reserve Deputy of the Year was awarded to Ken Lee.

The Sheriff’s Life Saving Award was presented to Deputies Colt Shankle and Andrew Cox for their swift and decisive actions while responding to a welfare concern on October 22, 2025. The deputies quickly assessed a critical medical emergency, prevented further harm, and applied lifesaving measures until medics arrived. Fire officials later confirmed that their rapid response and proper application of care were instrumental in saving a life.

Sheriff Whittington praised all of this year’s honorees, stating, “I am extremely proud of Deputies Shankle and Cox for their calm, decisive actions under pressure, which truly saved a life. I am equally proud of our Employees of the Year and Reserve Deputy of the Year, whose dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service exemplify the high standards of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office. Each of these individuals represents the very best of this agency.”

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office congratulates all award recipients and thanks them for their continued service to our community.
