Evangel claims SBJ poll crown as top five shuffles after Week 10 showdowns

Week 10 clashes between four of the top five teams in last week’s Shreveport-Bossier Journal Top 10 high school football poll provided voters with decisive data to determine the final rankings for the 2025 season.

As the playoffs unfold, Evangel has claimed the top spot by going unbeaten in District 1-5A after overpowering Parkway last Friday night.

Calvary’s 70th straight district win capped a 9-1 regular-season run by the Cavs, including impressive non-league wins over 4A power Franklin Parish and 1-5A’s Huntington. That was enough to move Calvary up a spot to third In the final poll.

Loyola edged Northwood in a 1-4A showdown Friday and jumped ahead of the Falcons in the SBJ Top 5.

Bossier’s Bearkats did enough this season to overcome a big loss at North DeSoto In Week 10 and regain a spot in the poll. Green Oaks and Huntington made the final cut.
