The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a free community support class for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren on Friday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Southern Hills Community Center, located at 1002 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport.

The class aims to provide guidance and encouragement for grandparents navigating the challenges of parenting in a new role. Participants will receive information on legal and custody issues, child safety, financial and community resources, and technology awareness. The program will also address emotional support for both grandparents and grandchildren.

The event is presented by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Community Relations and Crime Prevention Division.
