Officials urge suspects to surrender after deadly Shreveport house fire

The Shreveport Police Department and Shreveport Fire Department are investigating a tragic house fire on Milton Street that claimed the lives of two young girls. The fire occurred on Oct. 13, and investigators now believe arson may be to blame.

According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, 5-year-old Danielle Spearman died at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Willis-Knighton South after being taken there following the fire. Nine-year-old Aaliyah Robinson died the following day, Sunday, Oct. 19 at 12:16 p.m. at Ochsner LSU Health.

Police Chief Wayne Smith and Fire Chief Clarence Reece condemned the act, describing it as cowardly and unacceptable. Both leaders urged those responsible to turn themselves in, emphasizing that such violence will not be tolerated in the Shreveport community.
